About the VPA

Introduction

The VPA was originally formed in 1971 to represent the professional and industrial interests of principals in Victorian primary schools. Today the organisation has grown to over 1300 members, representing most principal class officers in government schools.

Purpose

The purpose of the Victorian Principals Association is to:

Strategic Plan

The theme for the VPA Strategic Plan for 2005-2006 is "VPA....leading the way".
The Critical Success Factors of the Strategic Plan are:

1. RepresentationRepresent views for and on behalf of members, the profession and education.
2. AdvocacyAdvocate for, and lead educational discussion / debate with members and the wider community.
3. Professional Learning CentreExplore the feasibility of a dedicated leadership "centre" (institution or virtual)
4. GrowthRetain current, and continue the growth of, VPA membership.
